| | pleased | ] | My brother, Aaron's, baby was born yesterday at 12.45pm. I think they said she was 8.4lbs. We had a text message Saturday evening saying Jenny had gone into labour, so they had one hell of a night... but both the mother and baby are healthy and well so it worked out okay. :) The first photo was sent by pix and was a little distorted...
The weekend was good. My family all really enjoyed playing Ultimate on Saturday and San_grail's birthday party Friday night. It was really cool to catch up with them. The end result is that I am really qite tired and would rather be at home asleep. :D

| Confusion and Essays |

| | drained | ] | Confusion is on this weekend. I have an essay due next Thursday, so I'm kind of wishing it wasn't, at the same time that I'm useing it as a distraction. I just made a webpage for it, because there wasn't 1 place to go to get all the information you need. It's pastelness is starting to get to me though. I'm not sure whetehr that is just my mind looking for new things to work on, other than my essay, or whetehr I should actually change it. *shrugs*
I had better go home I think. |

There are definate advantages to working and studying at a university. One of them is free access to academic journals that have articles on the essays you have to write. Neat. |

| | tired | ] | Wow...it is much harder to install custom mood themes in communities than in private journals. I installed it in my own journal twice before getting it right. It is much easier/quicker to use the admin console...which you can't use with communities. |

| | accomplished | ] | Okay, my reaction to the lack of classics communities was to make one: classical_world.
I'm not sure how successful it will be though. The other history communities I have found seem to be all but dead. At least it exists now though. I feel safe in that knowledge. :D |

There seems to be a lack of good/active communities here on Greatest Journal. Lots and lots of in-character roleplaying communities, but not a lot else. Maybe it just doesn't have the population base... |

| Exam |
[Jun. 13th, 2006|05:54 pm] |
I just had my Classics exam. It was... mildly frustrating. Have you ever sat down and just been hit by so much information that you can't write anything. It was a bit like that. I had no idea where to start and how to write it all down. Ouch. I also have issues with remembering primary sources for essays... I think this type of exam should be open book. I don't see that bringing in Herodotus, Thucydides and/or Xenophon would make the exam easy... and it would certainly improve the quality of the essays.
Which reminds me...I got my essay back beforehand. I got an A- which isn't too bad. Apparently my main weakness is the inclusion of too much detail. Fair enough. I've never been too good at filtering detail and tend to try and pack as much in as I can. See the exam above. :D
Okay. I'd better go home and get ready for Ultimate soon. |

A lot of what's been said in this thread annoys me. I really can't work out why. |

This place reminds me of livejournal two years ago, but with more ads.
Oh, looks like I'll have to go find a cool mood theme. :D |
